The credit union difference means having access to quality services as well as a voice in determining how your institution does business. When you join Service One Credit Union (SOCU), you become a member/owner of a not-for-profit financial cooperative whose primary mission is serving its members. Because service is our number one priority - not making a profit - we can offer superior financial services to members.

Founded in 1963 as a not-for-profit organization to assist Western Kentucky University faculty, staff, students and alumni to attain their financial goals, SOCU now serves a greater field of membership.
You are eligible to join if you meet any of the following criteria:

Western Kentucky University employees, students and alumni.

Employees of all educational institutions within the counties of Allen, Barren, Butler, Cumberland, Edmonson, Logan, Metcalfe, Monroe, Muhlenburg, Simpson, Todd, and Warren.

Employees of the US Government who work in Allen, Barren, Christian, Edmonson, Logan, Metcalfe, Monroe, Simpson, Todd, Trigg or Warren.

Employees of Select Employee Groups who qualified for inclusion and were approved by the Board of Directors of Service One Credit Union. Click here to view a list of our Select Employee Groups.

Offering comprehensive benefit packages is very important in both recruiting and retaining qualified personnel.

SOCU offers a complete package of financial services to employees of our Select Employee Groups. This valuable benefit is appreciated by employees and costs your organization nothing to offer.

To encourage participation, we recommend:
Distribution of an employee membership kit, provided by SOCU, which describes our products and services.

Appointment of a designated site coordinator to distribute membership kits and SOCU information.
