Member Share Insurance FAQ
The National Credit Union Administration's (NCUA) Share Insurance Estimator lets consumers, credit unions, and their members know how its share insurance rules apply to member share accounts—what's insured and what portion (if any) exceeds coverage limits.
Accounts with joint owners/beneficiaries can get additional coverage.
The NCUA’s and FDIC’s insurance coverages are both government guaranteed with the NCUA providing coverage to Credit Unions and the FDIC providing coverage to banks. Both coverages insure all of your eligible accounts up to at least $250,000 and both coverages are backed by the Federal government.
All of your eligible shares are automatically insured by the NCUA up to $250,000. If you have more than $250,000 with Service One, we would be happy to assist you with structuring your accounts to maximize your insurance coverages.
All eligible accounts are insured up to at least $250,000 by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund. This fund is backed by the full faith and credit of the United States Government.
